The COE designation is awarded to those practices that have an exemplary track record of patient care and are dedicated to safety and results.

Achieving Center of Excellence requires an evaluation from an independent certification group that evaluates every practice based on strict criteria and a rigorous site inspection. The Center of Excellence designation must be reviewed every year and facilities must continue to meet the strictest standards.

One of the many benefits of choosing a Center of Excellence program is that some health insurers require a COE designation when determining if a practice is included in their network.

The American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery is the largest professional organization within the specialty, in the world. Their goal is to help improve the lives of those suffering from obesity and the care that they receive.
