Dr. Joao A. Lopes MD, F.A.C.S.
Dr. Lopes is a highly recognized surgeon and experienced in the field of Advanced Laparoscopic and Bariatric surgery in NJ for the past 6 years. He is a Board Certified Diplomat of the American Board of Surgery since 2005. He has given numerous presentations and seminars in the field of General Surgery, Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery, and Bariatric Surgery over the past years. He has also performed the region’s first Gallbladder removal using Single Incision Laparoscopic Surgery (SILS) at Overlook Hospital and Trinitas Regional Medical Center. He has written chapters in General Surgery Review Books, as well as published articles in surgical journals. He is involved in training surgical residents from Columbia University in New York and prides himself in proctoring medical students over the years.
